When performing different kinds of maintenance or installation, you will find knowing your operating system will come in handy. We have created a guide below to help you identify the operating system that your computer is running.
- To identify your operating system, simply select the apple logo at the top right hand corner of your screen and select "About this Mac"
- At the top of the Window, you will see the name of your operating system, such as "OS X Yosemite"
- Below the name you will see a version number, such as 10.10.5, which refers to the particular update you have of the operating system.
- That's it! You've now identified your operating system. Make sure to keep it on hand, or to commit it to memory, as knowing it will contribute to understanding your computer's maintenance and up-keeping.
